A European Week Dedicated to Employability Through Sport 🇪🇺
From 23 to 27 September 2025, EASE took part in the Employment@Sport project in Santa Cruz – Torres Vedras (Portugal), hosted by Sport Evolution Alliance.
The event brought together over 130 participants from 10 European countries, united by a common goal: to strengthen youth employability through sport.
Throughout the week, delegations explored career opportunities in the sport sector, developed key job-market skills, and took part in intercultural and sport-based activities — from surfing to climbing. These experiences fostered not only learning but also genuine European connections.

Workshop: Challenges and Opportunities for Sport Employers 💼
As part of the programme, EASE hosted a dynamic workshop on “Current issues faced by sport employers in recruiting young people”.
Discussions focused on several key areas:
-
National employment challenges across Europe
-
Inclusion and non-discrimination in sport
-
The role of sport events in stimulating youth employment
-
The impact of new technologies on the sport job market
-
The importance of European cooperation in supporting youth employability
This collaborative approach allowed each delegation to share national insights and propose innovative solutions for a more inclusive and dynamic sport labour market.

Roundtable and the Torres Vedras Manifesto ✍️
To close the week, EASE led a roundtable discussion on “Innovative contexts for promoting sports participation: what proposals? Which professionals?”.
The event concluded with the adoption of the “Torres Vedras Manifesto for Youth Employability in Sport” — a shared vision expressing the collective commitment of all partners to support young professionals and create more opportunities in the European sport sector.

A Week of Collaboration, Innovation, and Inspiration 🤝
The Employment@Sport project successfully combined learning, exchange, and action, reinforcing the bridge between sport and employment.
EASE is proud to have contributed its expertise as a European employers’ organisation, supporting the professionalisation of the sport sector and the empowerment of young people through meaningful employment pathways.
A big thank you to Sport Evolution Alliance and all participating partners for an inspiring and productive week in Portugal!
