« The Association of Companies of Gymnasia and Academies of Portugal » (AGAP), defined as an association of small and medium-sized companies of Health & Fitness, was founded in October 1999 to promote the importance of Fitness in improving the quality of life. The constitution of the association started with a meeting of the national operators of Health & Fitness, that were trying to find a way to strengthen a market in constant evolution. Faced with a degree of isolation of operators in the international markets, AGAP facilitates the exchange of good practices, ideeas and experience in order to help companies from the sector. Thanks to direct communication, AGAP wants to be distinguished by its determination to defend the interests and rights of its members. It provides direct support for those who believe in solidarity among equals. AGAP includes companies from all over the country, from small and medium clubs to large chains. It is member of EHFA and partner of IHRSA.

The Confederation of Danish Employers (DA), founded in 1896, is a not-for-profit organisation funded by subscriptions from member organisations. The DA represents 12 employer organisations with a membership of more than 28,000 Danish private companies in manufacturing, retail, transport, services and construction. DA's main activities are employment policy and skills, working environment, coordination of collective agreements, labour law, international relations and monitoring in terms of analysis and statistics on wages, absenteeism, conflicts, etc. The DA's objective is to influence national, regional and international policy-makers in order to increase the competitiveness of Danish companies and their access to a skilled labour force. At the national level, the DA represents the interests of its member organisations in relation to the political system. As regards labour market regulation, the DA is there to ensure the effective coordination of mutual interests when collective agreements are negotiated. DA is not a direct party in the continuous bargaining, but must ensure the necessary and sufficient coordination among member organisations, when the parties conclude new agreements. A member organisation's conclusion of a collective agreement is subject to the approval of DA. The DA is member of BusinessEurope, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and the OECD's Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC).

The FIA represents an industry which comprises over 5,700 sites nationwide and is staffed by over 200,000 people. Almost 90% of the population live or work within two miles of a facility – which probably explains why over 1 million consumers walk through our doors every day. Our job at the FIA is to develop activity programmes designed to help every man, woman and child in the UK be more active, more often. These include: • MoreActive4Life: a three-year national consumer campaign, designed to complement the Government's Change4Life programme. It was launched in June 2009 • active at school: a programme developed for Year 5 pupils and below • active at work: a workplace activity programme created for time-starved employees • go: an exciting teenage activity initiative developed specifically for girls aged 15-16 • Fit For The Future a Government funded scheme for inactive 16-22 year olds in Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Suffolk and Torbay, currently being delivered by local clubs and centres • Sweat in the City: a London pilot aimed at 16-24 year old women who need help rediscovering their activity habits.

SkillsActive is the sector skills council for the active leisure and learning industry. There are 25 sector skills councils in total in the UK, covering a huge variety of business, industry and learning. The active leisure and learning sector is made up of five sub-sectors: sport and recreation, health and fitness, playwork, the outdoors, and caravans. SkillsActive works with all five sub-sectors to increase the demand for, the quality and the supply of skills provision, to bring all areas together in collaboration, and to lobby funding agencies and policy makers for improvements to the sector. SkillsActive is a dynamic organisation based throughout the English regions as well as in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. SkillsActive staff are experts in their field providing employers, training providers, policy makers and a host of other organisations with information and advice on skills development and training for the sector. SkillsActive takes the lead from employers and is a government-backed organisation. Being employer-led is key after all, employers are the people who know what skills they need for their workforce, what they will need for their organisation to grow, and how their employees and volunteers can best be trained. SkillsActive is the organisation that links employers with training providers, policy makers and individuals to ensure that the importance of skills needs are communicated and addressed, and that workforce development policies really get to the heart of what the active leisure and learning sector needs. Employers are at the centre of SkillsActive's work. Employers include private businesses, public and community businesses and trusts, and voluntary and not-for-profit organisations.
