What is EASE?

EASE stands for European Association of Sport Employers. EASE is a European not-for-profit organisation registered in France . It is an independent membership association of national sport and active leisure employer organisations wishing to promote social dialogue. The social dialogue and the quality of industrial relations are at the centre of the European social model. Some organisations dealing with the social affairs in the sport and active leisure field have decided to progress on social affairs linked to business issues at European level. In order to achieve that aim,4 national organisations from 4 countries decided to found EASE in January 2003.

The setting up of EASE responds to a precise need: the necessity of a regulation at European level in the sport sector. EASE believes that the social regulation in sport will be tomorrow's task of the European social partners , and not only the task of the European Commission and the sport movement institutions as it used to be sometimes.

The aims of EASE are in all sport and active leisure fields:

• to identify and protect the material and moral interests of its members and represent them at European level,
• to promote and develop the representativeness of EASE within each European country and/or each sub-sector,
• to participate in the European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for sports and active leisure,
• to negotiate at European level on behalf of employers in sports and active leisure within its mandate,

European social dialogue in professional football

The European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for professional football – launched on 1st July 08 – brings together the International Federation of Professional Footballers' Associations-Division Europe (FIFPro) and the Association of European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL). The employers' side is complemented by the European Club Association (ECA). Given the specificity of sport governance, the social partners have invited UEFA to chair their dialogue.
