Conference “European social dialogue and EQF”, ParisEASE and the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF) organised a conference named “European social dialogue and the European Qualifications framework” on 25th March 2009 in the premises of the CNOSF in Paris.
Gathering all the national stakeholders involved in the training field (sport federations, French but also Belgian and English social partners, Ministries in charge of sport, Observatoire for sport), this conference raised the participants awareness of the importance of European social dialogue and EQF. Download the minutes! - Download the PowerPoint presentations!• Official opening CNOSF, Jean-Paul CLEMENCON – Director of Cabinet MORNING1st presentation • European social dialogue: presentation and key issues - EASE, Marcel MARTIN – President 2nd presentation • European social dialogue: presentation and key issues - European Commission – DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities – Unit Social Dialogue and Industrial Relations, François ZIEGLER These presentations underlined : - the reinforcement of the role that social partners are going to play in the Community decision-making process, - the complementarity between national and European social dialogue, - the importance of social dialogue in the professionalization of the sector. 3rd presentation • The European Qualifications Framework - European Commission – DG Education and Culture - Unit Lifelong learning: contribution to the Lisbon process, Carlo SCATOLI The 2 principal aims of the European Qualifications Framework were set out: - to promote citizens' mobility between countries, - and to facilitate their lifelong learning. EQF will act as a translation device to relate different countries' national qualifications systems and frameworks together around a common European reference. It is a voluntary framework, so there are no formal legal obligations on the countries. AFTERNOON• The projects on EQF Input and discussions 1st presentation • EQF-Sport - European Observatoire of Sport and Employment (EOSE), Jean-Louis GOUJU - Member of the Management Board 2nd presentation • EQFOA - SkillsActive, Peter THOMPSON 3rd presentation • EQF Network Testing "Commission Nationale de la Certification Professionnelle (CNCP)", Anne-Marie CHARRAUD French Sailing Federation - The presentations of the different projects illustrated: - the necessity to exchange on national practices linked to qualifications between countries and between stakeholders, - the understanding problems, - the profitable interactivity between the national and the European level. • Conclusion CNOSF, Jean-Paul CLEMENCON – Director of Cabinet This conference stressed the necessity for the stakeholders to be proactive about 2 fundamental initiatives for the sport sector at European level: social dialogue and EQF. The success of this first information day is also linked to the questions raised by the presentations. The employers' side is complemented by the European Club Association (ECA). Given the specificity of sport governance, the social partners have invited UEFA to chair their dialogue. Search |
